Bio

Megan is a Lecturer in American Studies and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. Her teaching and research interests include disability studies, body theory, medical history, science and technology studies, visual culture, and material culture.

She has a PhD in Cultural Studies from UC Davis, and her research broadly analyzes bodies as sites of knowledge production. She is currently working on a book project that looks at shifts in clinical power dynamics and the racialized and gendered medical discourses surrounding “grassroots diseases.” She is also the co-editor, with Achy Obejas, of the anthology Immigrant Voices: 21st Century Stories.
